Private client specialist joins Sintons

Further capability has been added to the specialist wills, trusts and probate team at law firm Sintons through the recruitment of another senior lawyer.

James McMillan becomes an associate at Sintons, having moved from another North East law firm where he has built his reputation as a highly-regarded specialist in private client work.

James, a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) and a Dementia Friend, brings additional expertise to Sintons’ team, which was named private client team of the year at the Northern Law Awards 2019.

The lawyer – shortlisted as a rising star at the Northern Law Awards – is experienced in all areas of wills, trust and estate work, with particular experience in advising on lifetime planning, tax planning structures and Lasting Powers of Attorney (LPAs).

The addition of James strengthens the fast-growing department even further, with further recruitment planned as the team continues to win new work across the UK.

James said: “Sintons is well known for its private client experience and expertise, alongside its reputation for outstanding client service, and I am delighted to be able to join the team. I look forward to working with my new colleagues to deliver the highest levels of legal and service excellence to our clients, building Sintons’ profile and presence in this highly specialist field further still.”

Paul Nickalls, head of the wills, trusts and probate team at Sintons, said: “We have seen significant levels of growth within our team in the recent past, with new instructions regularly being received in what are often the most complex of matters. Our team has expanded accordingly, and we now have a strong and very capable department with significant levels of experience.

“James is a great addition to our team and is recognised within the region as a leading young name in this very specialist area of work. We are rightly regarded as one of the most ambitious and dynamic departments of our kind in the North of England, and we all look forward to working with James as we develop our capability and reputation even further.”
