Association of Personal Injury Lawyers
The Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL) is an independent not for profit organisation fighting for the rights of injured people and providing accreditation for lawyers who specialise in personal injury law.
Approximately 3,800 personal injury lawyers are members of APIL and as a consequence agree to comply with a code of practice for the benefit of personal injury victims.
APIL runs an accreditation scheme which helps identify lawyers who are truly personal injury specialists. To obtain accreditation, lawyers must meet strict criteria regarding levels of legal knowledge and standards of client care. The accreditation process extends beyond individuals to firms and legal practices which specialise in pursuing personal injury compensation claims on behalf of accident victims and those suffering from industrial or occupational diseases.
By choosing an APIL accredited practice you can be confident that you are obtaining expert legal advice to enable you to recover the personal injury compensation that you deserve.
In addition to providing a system of accreditation, APIL also works closely with charities and other support organisations. This is ensure that injured people get the help and practical support they need to cope with the restrictions and disabilities they may suffer as a result of their injury.
APIL also campaigns on a variety of health and safety issues to help protect the rights of personal injury victims and to ensure that there is full access to justice. This includes addressing many myths about compensation claims, supporting safety campaigns and campaigning in relation to potential changes to the law.
