What is a guardian?
A guardian is a person appointed to look after minor children after your death.
If you are a parent of young children and you die leaving no one else with parental responsibility for the child, the court will usually decide who is appointed to look after your children. By appointing a guardian in a correctly worded will you can eliminate this potentially distressing situation and be confident that you have made provision for the care and protection of your child should the unthinkable happen.
