Social responsibility

At Sintons, we are proud of our heritage, having been established in the region for over 100 years. During that time we have worked extensively within our local community and are committed to giving something back.

We therefore set up our corporate social responsibility (CSR) committee who meet on a regular basis to identify developmental projects and activities throughout the area.

Every year through a staff vote we agree to support and raise funds for a particular charity or group of charities. This is achieved on a voluntary basis through the considerable efforts of our staff and also through charitable donations. Sintons assign eighty staff days a year to support our CSR project.

Last year, Sintons supported Macmillan Cancer Support, chosen because of the support given to many of our staff and their families during extremely challenging times. We raised over £22,000 which will help fund the chemotherapy 'Closer to Home' project.

In recent times we have worked with and raised funds for Downs Syndrome North East, Charlie Bear Cancer Appeal, Sir Bobby Robson Foundation and the Children’s Heart Unit Fund (CHUF).

This year we are supporting Tiny Lives.
