Sintons supports Ponteland United football club under 11s team
Law firm Sintons has again demonstrated its commitment to North East grassroots sport by renewing its support for a junior football team.
The Newcastle-based firm is the sponsor of the under 11s team at Ponteland United and will again lend its backing to the young footballers as they enter their 2019/20 season.
Sintons’ sponsorship of the team – known as the Eagles – allows them to purchase shirts, which will feature the firm’s logo.
The continuing relationship with Ponteland United forms part of Sintons’ longstanding commitment to supporting grassroots sport in the North East, with sponsorship also being given to numerous local football, cricket and rugby teams.
Sintons is also one of the main sponsors of the Newcastle Eagles basketball team, the most successful team in British basketball history which also operates a highly successful community initiative, Hoops for Health, with schools throughout the North East.
It is also a key part of Sintons’ CSR commitment, which sees the firm and its staff actively working in local communities to help charities and voluntary organisations.
Mark Quigley, managing partner of Sintons, said: “As a business proud to be based in the North East, we are also committed to making our contribution to our local community – lending our support can often make a big impact on a voluntary organisation, and we are delighted to do so wherever possible.
“Our continuing sponsorship of Ponteland United’s under 11s team – the second group of Eagles we are proud to be associated with – is another example of that. The volunteers who run the club do a superb job and have created a thriving community across a number of age groups, and we are very pleased to support them.”
Alan Birkinshaw, secretary of Ponteland United, said: “We are very grateful for this support from Sintons. Running 37 teams under the Ponteland United banner on a voluntary basis is a substantial commitment from all our coaches, who turn up week in, week out to provide football opportunities for the children in Ponteland and the surrounding area. We couldn’t do this without the generous support of the business community and greatly appreciate Sintons’ sponsorship.”
