Sintons’ staff volunteer at North Tyneside Art Studio (NTAS)
A group of Sintons‘ staff have volunteered their time to help the North Tyneside Art Studio (NTAS) transform its studio space. NTAS is an award winning charity based at the Linskill Centre in North Shields which uses art and creative activities to help transform the lives of people experiencing mental health problems. It delivers a number of activities including daytime workshops and outreach sessions.
The volunteers, consisting of Head of Marketing Charles Penn, Solicitor Fiona Campbell, Trainee Solicitor Laura Tennet, Business Analyst Helen Cunningham and Secretary Jennifer Richardson spent their time assisting with the re-development of the internal space.
As Project Worker, Michael Cunliffe, explains, “we have users who have been coming here for up to 25 years and over that time we’ve found it’s really important to give the members their own space. It may seem like just moving walls but really we’re helping people to access the centre by creating a safe place where they can build confidence, reduce isolation and even give them a reason to leave the house that day.”
Andrea Kings, Director at NTAS commented that the Sintons’ team had “done a brilliant job. The transformation of the studio is fantastic.”
