We are a full-service law firm based in Newcastle upon Tyne serving clients throughout the UK and further afield. We have an outstanding reputation for delivering high quality partner-led advice with exceptional personal service.
With over 200 employees, including 32 partners and 120 lawyers, we are one of the largest law firms in the North East. Our client base includes large companies, owner managed businesses, healthcare professionals, leisure operators and rural businesses.
With a history stretching back over 100 years, we recognise the importance the contribution that businesses like ours should and can have on the local community and we, therefore, encourage our employees to get involved and give back to the local community in which we live and work.
Our vision is to set the standard for legal excellence and in doing so, to become the law firm of choice for businesses, organisations and individuals. To meet our vision and deliver an outstanding service we employ individuals who understand our clients’ needs, take pride in what they do and how they do it. If this sounds like a vision you would like to be a part of and you meet the requirements of the role below, we’d be delighted to hear from you.
We currently act for several public sector bodies in relation to Inquests and Judicial matters and count among our client base organisations and individuals who require advice and assistance in their efforts to ensure that they discharge their regulatory obligations in a sensible, proportionate and pragmatic fashion. Building on existing instructions, principally in the Healthcare sector, we are looking to expand our Regulatory team as part of the firm’s overall growth strategy.
The role will involve advising and assisting individuals and businesses across a wide range of sectors who are encountering challenges in complying with relevant legislation and who may be facing enforcement action from a range of regulators, including the Health and Safety Executive, the Environment Agency, the Care Quality Commission, Professional Regulatory bodies and Local Authorities amongst others.
The successful candidate will have a proven track record in this field and will be experienced in representing clients at interviews under caution and before Tribunals, Magistrates’ Courts and at Inquests. Whilst the firm does not currently act for any regulatory bodies, we are open to the possibility of doing so in the future and the role is also suitable for those who have experience of or an ambition to develop such a practice.
We require a self-motivated, highly organised and enthusiastic individual with excellent business development skills who is confident in promoting the firms regulatory offering. An ability to work collaboratively across the firm with lawyers to develop existing client relationships is essential.
- Salary will be commensurate with experience.
- Comprehensive benefits package.
- Opportunity for career progression.
